Context before application
We read cited passages in their literary, historical, and canonical setting. We do not present an isolated line as a guaranteed outcome, and we mark paraphrases as summaries rather than pretending they are quotations.
Our basic review sequence
- Read the complete paragraph, scene, poem, or argument around a citation.
- Identify genre, speaker, first audience, repeated language, and the book's wider purpose.
- Separate textual observation from theological synthesis and practical counsel.
- Check whether an application respects evidence, human dignity, safety, and love of neighbor.
Clear claims and meaningful differences
Writers distinguish direct textual observations, historical information, theological synthesis, and practical counsel. Where Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, or other Christian traditions differ in ways that affect the topic, the guide says so without caricature. A debated interpretation is not presented as though every Christian community has always used identical language.
Spiritual care with safeguards
Prayer and community can be powerful forms of support. They do not replace medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or safeguarding professionals. Content about distress, trauma, abuse, and health includes an appropriate care note, and urgent danger is directed toward immediate local help.
Sources, translation, and generated features
Complete Scripture pages identify the World English Bible Protestant edition and link to its public-domain notice. Programmatic reading notes use transparent features of the displayed text—such as verse count, opening and closing language, and recurring vocabulary—rather than pretending an algorithm has settled a passage's meaning.
Corrections and updates
